The Cast of "The Goonies:" Then and Now

"The Goonies" for the periodical's 20th anniversary issue. It wasn't their first get-together since the movie's wrap -- they all reunited for a DVD commentary in 2001 -- but they gathered once more for a trip down memory lane. Everyone was there, and even producer Steven Spielberg and director Richard Donner joined in. During the interview Donner described the film as the "best experience I've ever had in my life." Coming from the dude who made "Superman" and "Lethal Weapon," that's pretty huge. But we're not surprised. And although we were saddened that the reunion was in no way an indication or announcement of an upcoming sequel (although rumors are flying about a Broadway musical version?!), it got us wondering what the Goonies, who never say die, are up to now.

Best TV Cliffhangers

The season finale of "Private Practice" was one of the best cliffhangers we've seen in a while. We don't even like the show all that much, but we're glad we stuck around. Poor Violet finally declared her love for Pete and seemed happy for the first time in a while -- until her psychotic patient, Katie, decided Violet was carrying HER baby. The season ended with a drugged-up Violet pleading for her and her child's lives as Katie stood with scalpel in hand. Will Violet live to find happiness with Pete? Will Violet even live, period? Will Coop forget his keys and come back to rescue her? Tune in next season! Arrrgh!

But, while you wait for the answers to these and other burning questions, here are some of our favorite cliffhangers from TV past.

Live Long and Twitter

We understand that the older a person gets, the harder it is to embrace new technology. Heck, our dad’s never been able to program a VCR, and, frankly, we're Facebook-phobic. So we’re very impressed by the number of older celebrities celebrating the latest craze. That's right: Twitter.

Sure, Ashton Kutcher has the hang of it — he’s, like, 12. But when 79-year-old Barbara Walters announced on "The View" that she was losing her "Twitter virginity"… live… we were enthralled. She already has more than 100,000 followers (and counting!).

Have other more-mature celebs joined the tweeting revolution too? The answer — in 140 characters or less — is absolutely yes.
